Dan, Mike and I. We stayed up chatting until 5am, transitioning from drunk to sober in the nicest way. I went to sleep content, happy to have had made such good friends in the past year. Happy that, though I wasn’t going to be physically intimate with anyone, I had experienced a closeness with them that is rare in my life. I felt lucky to have found a friend in Mike, whom I could discuss my life with candidly, ask honest questions and explore our insecurities. I genuinely want him to find happiness, and learn how to love himself more than other people have loved him. That is my wish, 12 hours later.
